Coconut
Acrylic, 2024

This art is called Coconut in acrylic paint. I chose to do this picture because it's a picture of my cat whom I named coconut because of her beautiful white fur. I am a very big cat person but especially my cat. I got her a few months ago and she's already getting so big, she's changing shape and color more and more everyday. I grew up with cats since I live on a farm so they're a big part of my life. I've always been a cat person over a dog person. Coconut is my first inside cat which makes her extra special to me. I'm not sure how I talked my dad into that one but I'm so glad he said yes.

Sunset dreaming
Watercolor,2024

This is called sunset dreaming in water color. I had this dream a few days before we had to start the project. After a long day in Florida I went to watch the sunset on a beach, I brought a canvas and some paint and I made a painting. While I was painting a turtle came to check on its babies. After I was done painting I went seashell collecting.

Leap frog
Acrylic, 2024

This artistic styles painting is called Leapfrog and I used acrylic. I did this because it reminds me of summer at my lake. We have lilies and lily pads all over and I think they are so beautiful. In Chinese culture, lilies are known to symbolize good luck and lasting love. They are used for religious purposes and medicine purposes.

Fruit Basket
Color Pencil, 2023

Fruit Basket is a still life in the medium colored pencil. I chose these images to draw because I love orange juice. I could drink a gallon at a time. Orange juice is my favorite drink ever. I chose an apple because it was the last thing in the share cart and I had to. You can see a bite in the apple. I was the one who took it but I spit it out cause i dont like apples. I chose a banana because that's what I had for breakfast. Apples aren't native to North America. They originated in kazakhstan, in central asia east of the Caspian sea. Bananas developed in 650 BC in africa. Orange juice has been dated back to the 17th century, in the 1900s drinking oj was not a thing. No one ever thought to just juice an orange.

Olive Garden

Olive Garden is an artistic style drawing in the medium color pencil. My theme for this project is Food. Food has a big impact on me, I love food so much, especially Olive Garden. Olive Garden is not only my favorite restaurant but my favorite foods of all time. The Olive Garden is an italian restaurant, its first restaurant was opened on December 13, 1982, in Orlando, Florida, by co-founders Blaine Sweatt, Mark Given, Gino DeSantis and Dave Manuchia. Olive Garden is mostly known for their signature garden salad and freshly baked breadstick.

Freshly so

Freshly So is an artistic style painting in the medium of acrylic. My famous food. I love cooking so much and I enjoy it greatly. I am always on social media looking up different recipes to try. On Pinterest, I saw this picture and thought I needed to try painting it. I really like painting, it was created and popularized in the 20th century in germany. A guy named Sam Golden popularized it as well. Fun fact it was originally used as a safety glass used for car windows.

Brazil

Brazil is an artistic style painting in the medium oil paint. I love to travel and I would love to experience different cultures. Brazil is a tropical country and in the top three on my personal travel list. One of my favorite types of food is fruit. Mangos, papayas, and bananas are the most commonly grown in Brazil which is why I incorporated them in my painting.

Back Then

Back Then is an artistic style drawing in the medium pencil. This drawing has hills leading up to a small village. The village drawn in the project reminds me a lot of the village we stayed in in scotland. That place was so beautiful. There's a wooden wagon in the drawing as well with some apples on the ground, this also reminds me of the village. In Scotland the people were so nice, it was a very nice community filled with joy, food, and good times. It was definitely a small town with a very big heart.

Harvest

Harvest is an artistic painting in medium watercolor. This art means alot to me because my dad is a farmer. Ever since I was a little girl I've always loved going in the combine and tractors with him. Out of all the things he farms, wheat is definitely my favorite. I think they're so pretty. I've never really done watercolor so this was a change for me but it was definitely fun.

Blooming

My mural represents growth, strength, and hope through difficult times. The mountains symbolize the challenges and obstacles we face in life while the flowers represent growth, beauty, and new beginnings that come after hardship. My quote, “Let the flowers remind you why the rain was so necessary,” connects to the meaning of the mural by showing that struggles and difficult experiences help people grow into stronger and better versions of themselves. I wanted my legacy at my high school to inspire others to stay hopeful during hard times and remember that challenges can lead to something beautiful in the end.

Fireflys

My luminary painting is inspired by my love for mountains and my dream of going out west. I have always thought mountains were peaceful and beautiful because they represent adventure and freedom. I also included fireflies in my painting because they have been special to me since I was little. One of my first memories of them was when I saw something glowing in a ditch at night and became really frightened because I did not know what it was. My dad then told me a story about fireflies, and after that we grabbed jars and went outside together to catch them. That memory became something meaningful to me because it turned fear into excitement.

Emmy Opal

As a senior in high school art has become an important part of who I am and how I express myself. Throughout high school I have taken five different art classes that helped me grow creatively and build confidence in my abilities. Each class taught me new techniques and allowed me to explore different styles of art. Art has given me so many memories. After graduation, I plan to attend Montana State University to study marketing and graphic design because I want to combine creativity with communication and business in my future career. I want to spread creativity in every way in my life because when people grow up they often lose their creative spark.
